I’m finally back home and in the office after our whirlwind trip to Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. Did I mention we went to Notre Dame and got IN THE STADIUM!! I must once again thank the amazing team I get to work with and had the privilege of traveling with this week. Ashley, Clint and Britt, I am grateful for the opportunity to learn with you. I know we have seen a lot of transition and growing pains in the last couple of years, but I also know God is stretching and growing us in ways that will bring more glory to Him than we’ve ever been allowed or able to bring in the past.
The Middle School Ministry Summit was very enjoyable for me. While not a great deal of the discussion was applicable to the format of our ministry at North Point Community Church, I believe getting in the room with men and women who have a common passion and calling is invaluable. Many of these amazing Middle School Youth workers are facing incredible odds and they are winning the fight for the hearts of students. I’m encouraged to see the fire in the eyes of Student Pastors who, while most likely grossly under paid, under appreciated, and under resourced, are stopping at nothing to see just one more student meet Christ. Thanks to Marko, Kurt and Eric for creating the opportunity for us to meet, challenge and encourage each other.
I am so grateful that God would provide me the opportunities I’ve had this year. I’ve been able to travel more than ever and experience community in ways I didn’t know were possible. I am eager to see what the rest of 2007 holds and all the new possibilities that are waiting.
