Once upon a time I worked for one of the most innovative people on the planet. Reggie Joiner is considered by most to be the most gifted mind when it comes to Family Ministry. He was my boss’ boss. Reggie actually interviewed me before I was hired at North Point Community Church. I’ve been lucky enough to have some one on one time with him. Since then both Reggie and I have moved on to new or different areas of service.
Reggie was the Executive Director of Family Ministry and one of the original Leadership Team members that started North Point. Now he works full time for the organization he started, ReThink Group. These people provide curriculum and inspiration to hundreds (possibly thousands) of churches across the globe. They also provide conferences for training and consultation all over the country each year.
This Friday I’m taking a group of our Family Ministries team here at Elevation Church to the Orange Tour. This tour is an effort to make what the ReThink Group has learned and created to a broader audience. Not so they can make money but so that more churches are equipped to accomplish more for God. Orange Tour is an extension of the Orange Conference. I can’t wait to debrief some of the rich ideas our team will come away from this weekend with. I’m also excited because I’ll get to see some of my good friends from Atlanta who work for ReThink. Pray for our team as we begin to push ourselves in new directions. Pray that God would unlock our creativity and unleash us to see people far from God become filled with life in Christ!
