Anita and the girls decided to shoot over to Mullins, South Carolina late this afternoon to visit with some old friends. So after speaking tonight I find myself sitting in the lobby of this hotel basking in the few minutes of blogdom. Today has been a little odd though.
It’s Tuesday. I’ve been out of the office for two days but it feels like I’ve been gone for over a week. As intense as it is to work at Elevation (that’s a good thing by the way) it feels weird to be relaxing and not in the office. My schedule at Elevation is incredibly different than my schedule was at North Point. I’m sure a lot of that is due at least in part to the facts that we are only a little over two years old and that we are a portable church.
I’ve had around eight days off in the last two months. That’s a lot more than some people but very different than what I’ve been used to over the last four years. However, I’ve grown accustomed to my new schedule. Living so close to the office is a great advantage to needing to work so much. Even though I work a lot more than I used to I’m spending a ton of time at home that I used to spend in traffic.
So I’m trying to enjoy my time away and serve these churches as best I can. I’m also grateful for the incredible team back at Elevation that makes it possible for me to be away and know that EKIDZ will not suffer. Yes, I’m guilty of calling, emailing and checking in to the office already but I do that not because I feel I have to but because what I get to do for a living is an enormous privilege.
I’m going to head back to the room and enjoy another treat I"m not used to…cable television. I freakin love RUN’S HOUSE.
